Conference

I just returned from the Holston United Methodist Church's Annual
Conference and I am refreshed and full of new ideas. This week also
marks a change of venue for me. Tuesday I will be moving from my
office at First Tellico Plains UMC and Wednesday I move into Fender's
Chapel UMC of the Sweetwater Circuit.

Tellico Plains has been a joy to serve. They have allowed me a lot
of freedom in worship and have looked to me for leadership. I will
dearly miss that church. Yet I also know that there will be joy
(and challenges) where ever I serve. There's much work to be done!

God is Good! All the Time!

Ok... This is my first blog post. Just a little about myself. I am a 45 year old pastor in the United Methodist Church. I am beginning my graduate studies at Candler School of Theology in Atlanta this Fall. I am married to a wonderful woman named Donna and wehave two beautiful daughters; Mara and Abbey.

I am a recent graduate of Tennessee Wesleyan College with a Bachelor of Science in Human Learning. My Associates degree is from Hiwassee College in Pre-Seminary. I figure it might get me a discount on a cup of coffee some day!

I enjoy music. I have been a musician much of my life as a bass guitar player. I enjoy most kinds of music. I am an EBay addict and need help! I have written Christian poetry, some of which I have set to melody. I hope to post some of it here as I learn how to post!

Welcome!

This is the first posting on my new Blog. It is a place where I can post my work, my poems, and my ideas about God, the church, and family. Join me as we grow together.
